Taiwan Teaching Congress


Cheng Ballet Academy is pleased and honoured to announce the results from our participation in the NBA Competitions 2014 -

Namely, the first, second and third prizes in the classical solo ballet category (primary school division) at the National Ballet Association (NBA) Junior Ballet Competition 2014 in Fukuoka, Japan.

The National Ballet Association (NBA) Competition is a prestigious ballet competition which awards annual scholarships to leading dance schools worldwide. Launched 13 years ago by Artistic Director Koichi Kubo, who was a principal dancer with the Colorado Ballet, and with the support of the NPO NBA Ballet and the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the competition is held annually in several prefectures in Japan with the final being held in Tokyo.

The NBA Junior Ballet Competition is open to dance students of all nationalities from 9 to 20 years of age. The competition has a long history of producing winners who have gone on to achieve world recognition on international platforms. The main participants of the competition are Japanese, with more than 800 dancers from different prefectures of Japan congregating in Tokyo.

Cheng Ballet Academy student, Kenzo Seah, the only Singaporean among the competitors in the NBA Junior Ballet Competition 2014, Fukuoka, is also the winner of the said competition and Cheng Ballet Academy is the only international participant in this competition held on 5 August 2014.

The first three winners of the NBA Junior Ballet Competition Fukuoka 2014 will congregate in Tokyo in the final of the NBA Ballet Competition Tokyo 2015.
